Battery Blew up Review by Michelle
I've only had my box for 7 months before the battery blew up. I called ZTE (877-817-1759) and they are issuing a replacement free of charge since its under the 1 year warranty. I'm hesitant to use the same box again but I also don't want to repay for a new box through Sprint. (Posted on 1/14/2019)
Update Review by Karen
I originally said I would contact the FTC; however complaints should be registered with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Extremely Unsafe Review by Karen
Just as David described, I have had the same problem. What makes the problem worse is that it was already replaced once and now we are having the same problem. The battery is swollen. Children use this hotspot to access the internet to do their homework assignments and my fear is that this will catch fire and harm them. And to top it off I tried to contact ZTE direct and I was unable to speak to anyone, I was stuck in a voicemail loop. I will contact FTC to see if they have been made aware of this product defect. DANGEROUS - DO NOT BUY Review by David
After having this device longer than the warranty period (90 days) but, less than a year, this device has swollen. Evidently, this is because of a cheap, faulty battery. ZTE needs to issue a recall on this device since according to Mobile Beacon who distributes this product, they are dangerous and can result in fires! I'm going to contact ZTE to see if they have been recalled & replaced. If so, I will update this review. (Posted on 10/4/2018)
Battery swelling Review by Rose
My battery has swollen and the back of the case will not close. After reading all these reviews I am afraid mine will catch on fire. Why wasn't I told about this issue when I bought it from Sprint? I will try the ice packs at least until I can buy a better product. the speed and reliability are actually pretty good! Better product packaging? (Posted on 7/9/2018)
Battery swollen Review by Mz.Carrillo
Battery is swollen and have to keep charging or it quickly dies. Back cover doesnt snap anymore from the swelling. Problem only getting worse...bought it used....warranty? (Posted on 6/17/2018)
Works ok until detonation. Review by Russell
A cheap charging circuit causes the lithium ion battery to eventually explode. This could be solved with a smart wall/usb charger, but ZTE expects it's customers to manually plug and unplug the device for every charge cycle. Meanwhile in the real world, these things are wreaking havoc. The other issue is common with combination wireless modem/wifi devices: Overheating while charging. This could be solved by allowing us to turn of the wifi radio because the device can't handle running 2 radios while charging. I notice the wifi dropping during file transfers, but if I sandwich the Warp between some ice packs, the wireless LAN transfer picks back up and zips along. (Posted on 5/9/2018)
Battery literally blew up! Review by Carolyn
The battery on my ZTE Warp Connect had started to swell, displacing the back cover. Then, last night, it sizzled for a second and caught fire, burning like a flare from one side of the battery to the other. The fumes were noxious! Luckily I was home and at my desk! This thing could have burned the house down! (Posted on 4/10/2018)
Worst Hotspot I've ever used Review by ShaunNR
I use mobile hotspots quite recently and change companies when I get frustrated with the one I was previously using. This hotspot is by far the worst in terms of getting a signal and battery performance. I often struggle to even get a single bar of reception in my home. I strongly recommend potential buyers to consider twice. (I got mine through Boost Mobile) (Posted on 4/9/2018)
