How to activate laptop stick and create an account
Open the Connection Manager. You will automatically be connected to the T-Mobile Broadband network. Once you are connected to the T-Mobile Broadband network, open a Web browser. 1. If your laptop stick has already been activated You will be asked to create an account on the T-Mobile Web page. This account is specific to your Mobile Broadband service and is not the same as any existing account created for voice service. 2. If your laptop stick has not been activated Follow the on-screen instructions to activate your laptop stick. After activation, you will see a confirmation page, and you will be asked to reconnect to the T-Mobile network. To reconnect, open the Connection Manager and click Connect. Open a Web browser and follow the instructions on the Web page to create your prepaid Mobile Broadband account.
How to purchase my MOBILE BROADBAND PASS
Once you have successfully activated your laptop stick and created your account, you can purchase your Pass in order to browse the Internet. Purchase a Pass 1. Log in to your Mobile Broadband account on the T-Mobile Web page. 2. Select the option to purchase a Pass. 3. Follow the instructions on the screen. Once you have purchased your Pass, you can browse the Web.
How to redeem a Pass or PIN
You can redeem a Pass that you have already purchased from a store. To redeem, follow the instructions on the Pass that was given to you at the store.
How to check Time & Usage Amount of my Pass
You can view the time and usage amount on your Pass by logging you’re your my.t-mobile.com. Remember your username is your device’s phone number, which you can find by clicking Menu > Phone Number on the Connection Manager.
How to refill my laptop stick
After you have used up your Pass, you will be re-directed to a T-Mobile Web page where you can purchase a new Pass. NOTE: You can have only one active Pass at a time. If yes: Make sure you are connected. Your device will automatically attempt to connect to the T-Mobile network when you open the T-Mobile Connection Manager. If a green Connect button appears on the T-Mobile Connection Manager, click this button to connect to the network. If not: Continue...
Is there a light flashing on the USB laptop stick?
If not: Move the USB laptop stick to another USB port on your computer.
Is there a SIM Card?
If yes or unsure: Open the back cover of your device. There should be a white plastic rectangular card inserted into the device. If there is, please pull it out and see if it is inserted in the same direction as the diagram in front of the slot where you insert it. Put the cover back on and reinsert the device into the USB slot. If no: Check to see if a SIM card was included in your package. If there is one, please take it out and insert it into the slot in the back of the laptop stick according to the diagram. If there is no SIM card in your device or package, please contact T-Mobile Care at 1-877-778-2106.
Did your default web browser open to a T-Mobile web page?
If yes: Continue to follow the instructions on the page to activate your device and/or purchase a prepaid mobile broadband pass. If no: If no web page is displayed trying clicking on one of your favorite links or going to another web page. If this brings you to a T-Mobile page follow the instructions on the screen to activate and/or purchase a prepaid mobile broadband pass. Check your T-Mobile Connection Manager again to see if you need to click the Connect button. It will be colored green if you need to Connect and change to a Disconnect button if you are connected. If you still cannot get a page to be displayed, check the T-Mobile Connection Manager to see if there any signal bars are illuminated. If they are not, you may not be in a T-Mobile coverage area.
Did you receive an error message when you tried to activate your device?
If yes: Make sure you turn off Wi-Fi on your laptop. Click Disconnect on the T-Mobile Connection Manager. Click Connect on the T-Mobile Connection Manager once you are disconnected from the network. Once you reconnect to the network your default browser should open to a T-Mobile page. Follow the instructions on that page to continue. After buying a pass did you see a T-Mobile page once you connected to the network for a second time?
If yes: Try browsing to one of your favorite web pages. If this works, you are free to browse the web until your current pass expires or has all of its usage depleted. Note: You will see a T-Mobile page after you reconnect to the network. This allows you to check the status of your prepaid mobile broadband pass or buy a new pass should your current pass expire or have all of its usage depleted.
