Customer Reviews

Great phone!! Review by Louise
I have been very happy with this phone!! It has a great camera that's better than my iPod camera! I love how its touch screen and has a big screen. So much better than the cheap flip phone I had for a while! I give this an A plus because I have had no problems with mine up to date. I can receive pdfs and open them no problem I can receive word documents no problem and can check my email and send email as well. As far as I am concerned this phone is heaven sent. Unsupported; misleading warranty Review by Louis
Background: I bought my phone less than 9 months ago, and my "1-year warranty" is still in effect. The phone has begun to short circuit and launch apps from the display screen and the touch screen has become unresponsive along the edges.

Facts: I was told, in order to get my phone fixed, I have to mail it in at my own expense, wait a week or two, then I also read that I have to delete all my personal information.

Problem: It's bad enough that I am already being asked to sacrifice valuable time waiting for the phone to be repaired, then I have to delete all the information from the phone that I have spent hundreds of hours collecting, and the company won't even pay for the shipping costs???

Warning: Don't buy this phone. It is unsupported, and customer service won't help you in any way to provide you a standard level of service. No matter what price you pay for it, you're literally throwing that money away because you'll want to get a different brand. (Posted on 3/3/2015)

Piece of Junk Review by Stephen
The worst phone I've ever bought. Touchscreen completely stopped working after 2 months of light use. Cricket warranty covered refurbished replacement only and it arrived without an on/off button. Also did not receive my Cricket 50% mail in rebate. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! I would give it 0 stars if that were an option. (Posted on 2/24/2015)

Absolute Trash Review by Jacob
This phone is a piece of actual feces. The phone's touchscreen stopped working less than a month after purchase. Despite having purchased replacement insurance, and despite the fact that every review of this phone suggests that the entire line is essentially useless, I can't get cricket OR ZTE to fix their junky product.

Now, the damn thing is possessed by fucking Baalial or perhaps Azazel. The emergency dialer attempts to dial random numbers when the phone is sitting on a table and hasn't been touched in over an HOUR. But that's not all, the phone starts doing just whatever the fuck it feels like out of nowhere: opening apps or closing the one I have open, restarting, changing text input to a string of unreadable nonsense characters... There is no power in the universe that can compel this pile of overpriced crap to act like a fucking phone for more than a few minutes.

Not to mention, the phone came with the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered, both from the carrier and the original manufacturer. Shame on you, ZTE.

It's difficult for me to get terribly pissed off at a phone for being trash. In the early 90s, I had one of the Zach Morris Bricks, dude. I haven't forgotten my RAZR. This phone is far less functional than those dinosaurs.

It's almost offensive that ZTE even call it a smartphone, considering it has an IQ of approximately 1.

Do not waste your time or your money. If you run your business with your cellphone, absolutely do not buy this product.

I can't rant and rave nearly enough about how poorly this phone has worked.

I will never buy another product made by ZTE ever again after this experience, and I highly recommend that anyone considering this phone stop right now and go look at Samsung or hell, even iPhone ffs. (Posted on 1/30/2015)

PIECE OF CRAP Review by Rachel
I'd give this phone less than one star if I could. Don't let the low price fool you. I've only had this phone for two months and I can't even text or answer calls anymore. You'll end up spending more money in the long run when you inevitably have to replace it, so just bite the bullet and get a decent phone. Don't waste your time, money, or patience with this crap. Worst Phone EVER! Review by Christina
Upon getting this phone we were super excited. The graphics were decent and it was a great deal for the price.. until only a month after buying them. My mom bought 4 at once and my husband bought one all 5 have bugged out and are unusable only 1-2 months after purchase. My moms not even done paying for them and they're useless! Waste of money and time. (Posted on 12/17/2014)

Not the Samsung Galaxy, but... Review by Mark
I loved my Samsung Galaxy S3--I bought one when they first came out and WOW was I impressed! It had a great camera, huge screen, and multi-window (I could have my Bible app on top, my note-taking app on the bottom, and watch the service online all at once and on the same screen.) If that is what you are looking for, then ZTE Sonata is not for you.

However, this does have the latest version of Android and a fast Snapdragon processor. Many of the apps I had before still work on this phone and some of the features I've been able to compensate for with other apps.

This is not the high-end phone, but a good choice if you are looking for something just to get by. (Posted on 12/13/2014)
