A: 1. On your Mobile Hotspot, remove the battery cover and battery.
2. Write down the default SSID and password that are printed on the label in the battery compartment.
3. Replace the battery and battery cover and then power on your Mobile Hotspot.
4. On your computer, open the application you use to connect via Wi-Fi.
5. Select the default SSID for your Mobile Hotspot.
NOTE: If you do not see your SSID, your Mobile Hotspot may have gone into sleep mode. Quickly press the Power key to wake the display and then press the WPS key broadcast your SSID.
6. Enter the default password.
7. Click OK. Your Mobile Hotspot’s Internet connection is now available to your connected computer.

2. On your computer, double-click the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
3. Under Password, enter your password.
NOTE: The default password is “admin”.

NOTE: If your system does not launch the installation automatically, navigate to My Computer > Mobile Hotspot > AutoRun.exe or double-click the drive exposed on your desktop and double-click AutoRun.exe.
4. When install is complete, connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
5. Double-click the desktop icon　 to access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page.

5. In the Current Password field, enter your current administrator password.

A: When you access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page at the first time, you will see the Change SSID and Password page directly. Or you can follow these steps to change them:
1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi and access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page.
2. Click Home.
3. Click Change SSID and Password.
4. Enter a new SSID and new Password.
5. Click Apply.
NOTE: This change of the password used to connect other devices to your Mobile Hotspot. This does not change the password used to access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page.

One: 1. Press and hold the WPS and Power keys simultaneously.
2. Hold for about three seconds or until the display and all LEDs are off.
3. Release the keys. The Mobile Hotspot will restart automatically and you will see “Resetting” on the display.

Postpaid Mobile Broadband is ideal if you frequently connect to the Internet and transfer data, such as sending and receiving e-mail, downloading pictures, music, videos, and so on. With Postpaid Mobile Broadband, you can:

No Commitment Mobile Broadband is ideal for those who want the same network performance as Postpaid Mobile Broadband, but do not want to sign up for a long-term contract. With No Commitment Mobile Broadband you can get a Mobile Broadband Pass online when and where you need it for the amount of time and data that you require. With No Commitment Mobile Broadband, you can connect to the T-Mobile network using T-Mobile Broadband. Please go to the No Commitment Mobile Broadband section of this guide for information on how to sign up.

Step 2　 Connect to T-Mobile Broadband
Connect your Mobile Hotspot to your Wi-Fi enabled computer using the default SSID and password on the label inside your Mobile Hotspot’s battery compartment.
NOTE: See t Q03 for more information.
Step 3　 Activate on www.t-mobile.com
After connecting to your Mobile Hotspot and opening a Web browser, you will see an Activation page. Provide the requested information and click Activate device. Activation will require us to re-establish your connection. Once you receive a text message from T-Mobile that your Mobile Hotspot has been activated (an envelope indicator will appear on your Mobile Hotspot’s display), open a new Web browser window on your computer to continue.
Step 4　 Register your account
Once you have re-established your connection to the T-Mobile Broadband network, open a new Web browser window. You will see the Registration page where you will be asked to register your new account. Click Register when done. Your new account number - Please check your Mobile Hotspot inbox (see the Text Messaging section) for a text message containing your new Mobile Broadband phone number for your Mobile Hotspot. Please write this number down and keep it in a safe place. You will need the phone number when you log into the www.my.tmobile.com Web site to purchase a Mobile Broadband Pass.

Step 5　 Purchase a Mobile Broadband Pass
After you have registered your account, you will need to purchase a Pass before you can access the Internet. After purchasing a Pass, you can connect to the Internet.

A:When you enable the Wi-Fi function and use the battery to supply power to the device, once no user connects to the device within 10 minutes or you press the WPS button, the device will enter the sleep mode, and the LED screen will be turned off. In the sleep mode, the Wi-Fi function will be disabled. Press Power or WPS button to wake up the device, and the LED screen will be turned on.
Note: After getting into sleep mode, for considering saving power, device will automatically disconnect with network, if set device as automatic connection, it will automatically connect with network again after wake it up.

• WPS mode: Choose the desired mode.
AP PIN:
AP PIN will be displayed when WPS is activated.
 
Client PIN:
Enter the client PIN. As required, the PIN should be 8 digits.
 
PBC:
1. Select PBC mode in the Client WPS UI;
2. Select PBC mode in the WPS page of the 4G Mobile Hotspot and submit;
3. Once the WPS is enabled, please press the "next" button on the Client WPS UI. After a few seconds the client can access the WLAN, and the result will be shown in the Client WPS UI.
 
Click Apply to confirm your configuration.
Usage of WPS
WPS of your 4G Mobile Hotspot is disabled by default. Before using, you need to enable it in the Web GUI configuration page (Settings > Wi-Fi Settings > WPS) or by pressing the WPS button at right side of the device. 
If your client device supports WPS, you will not need to input the password manually after WPS has been available. Please follow the steps below:
 1. Start up your 4G Mobile Hotspot.
 2. Launch the client device connected to your 4G Mobile Hotspot.
 3. Enable the WPS function of your 4G Mobile Hotspot.
 4. Enable the WPS function of the connecting client.

Note: 1.In condition of both Modem and terminals support WPS function, then this function can be used.
2. Choose PIN method, it is necessary to input PIN code when connecting. Choose PBC method, after pressing WPS key, only one user can be allowed to insert within every 2 minutes, and the next user need to press WPS key again after 2 minutes.

2, Find the SSID of your MF61 and click it.
 
3, You will see the prompt of typing your Wi-Fi password. Please choose Wireless Security type as the same as the settings of MF61 and type your password correctly. Then click OK.

With 3-Way Calling, you can talk to two people at the same time.
1. Enter a number you wish to call then press the SEND Key.
2. Once you have established the connection, enter the second number you wish to call then press
the SEND Key.

To deactivate,press the FN Key again. To type a special character or number for the first letter of a word only, simply press the FN Key once. Then, the first letter you type will be a special character or number while the rest will be normal letters.
3. Space Key: Press the Space Key to type a blank space.
4. Sym Key: Press to open symbols list.
5. Enter Key: Press the Enter Key to insert a line break.
6. Delete Key: Press the Delete Key to delete a character to the left of the text cursor. Press and hold to delete the entire entry.

During a call, you can press the Left Soft Key for more options. The options vary depending on the functions you are currently using.

Hold/Unhold: Put the current call on hold or retrieve the call.

End call: End the current call.

Record: Record the current call. Press the OK Key to stop recording.

DTMF off/on: Enable or disable the sending of the DTMF tones.

Message: Switch to the Messaging menu during a call.

Contacts: Switch to the Address Book menu during a call.

Browser: Browse the Internet during a call.

When a voice call comes in, press the Send Key to answer the call. Press the OK Key to answer the call with the speaker phone on.

Tip: If you have connected a headset to the phone, you can press the button on the headset to answer the call.

During a call, press the Volume Keys to adjust the earpiece or speaker volume.

From idle mode, press the Send Key to check the All calls log.

You can store contacts with a variety of phone and fax numbers and additional address details.

The phone can store up to 500 items. The capacity of the phone book on your SIM card depends on the type of SIM card provided by your service provider. The saved location is identified by the icon shown before the contacts.

1. Select Menu > Address Book > Left Soft Key [Options] > Add New Contact, and press the OK Key [Select].

2. Enter the information of contact, such as name, number, and so on.

3. Press the Left Soft Key [Save] to save the new contact.

AT&T Address Book automatically synchronizes your contacts between your phone and online address book. This means that you can easily restore contact information if you ever upgrade, damage, or lose your phone.

To Activate AT&T Address Book:

Follow the prompts that are shown the first time you open the address book on your phone, or manually activate from your contact list via Options > Settings > AT&T Address Book.

2. Use the Navigation Keys to select a contact, press the Left Soft Key [Options] and select Set as speed dial.

3. Press the Up Key or Down Key to select an empty slot.

4. Press the OK Key [Assign] to finish.

5. Press the Right Soft Key [Back] to return to the previous menu. Or press the End Key to return to the idle screen.

b)　　  SIM management: Copy contacts to or from the SIM card, or delete contacts from the SIM card.

c)　　  Delete multiple: Delete a batch of contacts.

d)　　  Speed dial: View and edit the speed dials list.

e)　　  Name Display: Choose the way how name is displayed, which can be First & Last or Last & First.

f)　　　 Contact list: Choose to Display all, Contacts, or Yellow Cards only.

g)　　  About: View the information of your AT&T address book.

Your phone provides the following message types:

1. Text　 Messages (SMS)

The Short Message Service (SMS) lets you send and receive text messages to and from other mobile phones and email addresses. To use this feature, you may need to subscribe to your service provider’s message service.

The Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) lets you send and receive multimedia messages (such as picture messages) to and from other mobile phones and email addresses. To use this feature, you may need to subscribe to your service provider’s multimedia message service.

The AT&T Instant Messaging lets you chat in real time using your favorite instant messaging provider, such as AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, or Windows Live Messenger.

1. Select Menu > Messages > Messages > New message > Text message, and press the OK Key [Select].

2. Enter the recipient(s) party’s number. (Or Press the OK Key [Contacts] to choose the recipient(s) from Directory.)

3. Press the Down Key twice to the text field.

4. Edit the message.

Select Left Soft Key > Templates/My words to insert pre-set message or my words.

5.Press the OK Key [Send] to send the message.

1. Select Menu > Messages > Messages > New message > Multimedia message, and press the OK Key [Select].

2. Enter the recipient’s number. Or press the OK Key [Contacts] to choose the recipient(s).

3. Press the Down Key twice to access the Title field.

4. Enter the title of your MMS message.

5. Press the Down Key to the text field.

6. Edit the message. Press the OK Key [Insert] to insert the image, audio, or video.

7. Press the Left Soft Key [Options] and select Send to send your message.

The message envelope icon will appear on the information bar to identify you that you have received a new message. Press the OK Key twice to view the message.

Or from idle mode, select Menu > Messaging > Inbox to check your messages.

From idle mode, select Menu > Messaging > Settings > Voicemail number to check the voicemail number. Your voicemail phone number is preset by your service provider. You do not need to set it manually.

When the system sends you a message notifying you that there is a new voicemail, from idle mode, hold the 1 Key to access the voicemail service.

1.　　　  The Inbox folder contains all of your received messages. In this folder you can view your received messages and reply to them or forward messages to another recipient.

2.　　　  The Outbox folder contains all messages that were not sent during the last attempt. In this folder you can edit or resend your messages.

3.　　　  The Sent folder contains messages that were sent successfully. From this folder you can edit or forward messages to another recipient.

4.　　　  The Drafts folder contains drafts and unfinished messages. In this folder you can complete or resend your messages.

 Notes:

1. You cannot　　　 receive 　　　 new messages if the message memory is full.

2. The total amount of space　  available　　　 for saving messages is determined by the space available on the phone and SIM card.

While viewing the contents of the Inbox, press the Left Soft Key to access the following options, which apply to the highlighted text message:

1.　　　  Reply: Reply to the message.

2.　　　  Call Sender: Call back the originator of the message.

3.　　　  Save number: Save the originator’s number to your Address Book.

4.　　　  Delete: Delete this message.

5.　　　  Lock/Unlock: When the message is locked, you will not be able to delete it.

6.　　　  Forward: Forward this message.

7.　　　  Sort: Select to sort the messages by time or read/unread.

From idle mode, select Menu > Messaging > Settings to change the MMS/SMS/ Templates settings.

Retrieval Settings: You have two choices:

①．Automatic: Retrieve the new multimedia message automatically without selecting the notification message and receiving.

②．Manual: Retrieve the new multimedia message manually.

2. Time per page: Set the play time of each page.

3. Anonymous Msg.: You can choose to accept or refuse anonymous messages.

4. Connections: Please consult the service operator for detailed information.

5. PUSH Message: You can accept or reject PUSH messages.

6. SMS Settings (Text msg. setting)

7. SMS center number: Service center number given to you by your service provider.

8. Template Setting(The phone has 10 templates for SMS/MMS, and you can edit them.)

1. From idle mode, select Menu > Messaging > Create message.

2. Move to the Text field and select Options > Template.

3. Select a template and press the OK Key to insert the template.

The ATT instant messaging service can enable you to chat in real time using your favorite instant messaging provider, such as AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, or Windows Live Messenger.

By using this service, you can stay connected with your wireless phone.

About operation:

1. In standby mode, select Menu > Email&IM > IM or Menu > Messaging > IM.

2. Select the name of your instant messaging provider, and then press OK. The remaining steps will vary slightly for each provider (Eg. Windows Live Messenger).

3. Select the screen e-mail domain field and choose your correct e-mail domain.

4. Select the E-mail address field and enter your email address using the keypad.

5. Select the password field and enter your password.

6. Move down by using the Navigation Key and press the Sign In button to sign in to your messager account.

7. After sign in, select the name of a contact who is currently online.

8. Enter your message, and then press Send.

The mobile Email function could Carry your email inbox in your pocket! With Mobile Email 3.0*, you can access numerous providers, including AT&T, AOL, Yahoo!, Gmail™, AIM, and Windows Live™.

1. In standby mode, select Menu > Messaging > Mobile Email or Menu > Email&IM > Mobile Email.

2. Select the name of your email provider. The steps that follow will vary depending on your provider.

3. When you select Other Providers, you may be asked to accept terms of service and/or to select your email domain. Follow the on-screen instructions.

4. Enter your email address and password (Yahoo! Mail for example).

5. Press Sign In.

6. After successful login, you will be able to view all the emails in your inbox. Select an email and press Read to read it; press Options for more operations.

By default, Bluetooth is disabled on your phone. If you enable Bluetooth and turn off the phone, Bluetooth will be disabled. When you turn the phone on, Bluetooth will automatically be enabled.

1.　  From idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Connections > Bluetooth.

2.　  Set Bluetooth to On.

3.　  Go down to Discoverable and set it to On.

4.　  Go down to My Bluetooth Info and enter the phone name.

5.　  Press the OK Key to save the settings.

Notes: Set Discoverable to On to allow your phone to be found by other compatible devices.

1. From idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > My devices.

2. Press the OK Key [Search] to search for available Bluetooth devices.

3. Highlight a device from the list and press the OK Key.

4. To connect to the device, enter the passkey when prompted and press the Left Soft Key for Pair.

There are two options for Bluetooth connection:

①．Automatic: Set another Bluetooth device that is connecting to your phone as an authorized device.

②．Always Ask: Set another Bluetooth device that is connecting to your phone as an unauthorized device that must ask before connecting.

Tip: Some devices don’t connect to another Bluetooth device automatically. You need to highlight the device name in the My devices list and press the OK Key to connect with it.

Before sending data, please confirm the following two items:

• Bluetooth function is enabled.

• The paired device is visible, paired, and connected.

1. Select your desired file, and select Left Soft Key [Options] > Send > Via Bluetooth.

2. Select the aim device from the device list, and press the OK Key to send.

1. Enable Bluetooth function.

2. If the paired device tries to send a file to your phone, one popup dialogue will appear on your screen.

3. Press the Left Soft Key [Yes] to accept the incoming file, or press the Right Soft Key [No] to reject it.

3. To access a link on a website, scroll to it using the Navigation Key and press the OK Key.

2. Go to URL: enter a new web address.

3. Go to Search: enter search terms.

4. History: view your web browsing history.

5. Go to Bookmarks: access your list of favorite sites.

6. Add to Bookmarks: add a site to your list of favorites.

7. Reload: reload the current page.

8. Find in Page: search the page for a term.

9. Settings: adjust browser settings.

10. Help: find help and answers to frequently asked questions.

11. Exit: exit the web browser.

This feature allows you to set an alarm to ring at a specific time.

1. From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Tools > Alarm.

2. Press the OK Key for Edit and configure the alarm as required using the Alarm Setup Screen:

Alarm Time: Set as required

Alarm Type: Daily, Workday, Weekly, Once

Snooze: Off, 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes

Ringtone: On/Off

Ringtone Type: ATT tone.mid, select Edit to change

Alarm Remark: Optional

Tips:If the alarm time has passed, it cannot be saved. Even if the phone is turned off, the alarm will automatically turn the phone back on so that it can ring.

With this feature, you can use the calendar, set appointments, and view events.

1.　  From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Tools > Calendar.

2.　  Press the Left Soft Key for Options to access the following:

a)　　　  New: Add a meeting, memo, or anniversary.

b)　　　  Week view: View the schedule of the current week.

c)　　　  Go to date: Enter a date and view the scheduled events of that day.

d)　　　  Delete entry: You can choose to delete entries On this day, Before date, or All entries.

e)　　　  Settings: You can set the Calendar alarm tone, Default view, and Week starts on.

f)　　　　 Memory Info: Shows the current memory usage.

With this feature, you can use the phone as a calculator. The calculator provides the basic arithmetic functions; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

1.　  From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Tools > Calculator.

2.　  Enter the first number using the Number Keys.

3.　  Enter the operation for your calculation by pressing up, down, left, or right on the Navigation Key.

4.　  Enter the second number.

5.　  Press the OK Key for Equal to view the result.

Tips: Press the Clear & Back Key to clear digits and results. Press the 　 * Key to toggle the number between positive and negative. Press　　 the # Key to enter a decimal point.

With this feature, it will be easy to calculate the tip or determine how much each person should pay in your group.

1.　  From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Tools > Tip Calculator.

2.　  Enter the total bill by using the Number Keys.

3.　  Type the tip amount (in percentage) you would like to leave.

4.　  If the cost is shared by more than one people, please enter the number of the people into the split field.

5.　  At bottom of the calculator, the amount you need to pay will be displayed.

With this feature, you can measure time and take split times or lap times, for example, in different sports.

1.　  From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Tools > Stopwatch.

2.　  Select Start to start timing.

3.　  Select Stop to stop the timing during the operation and view the duration of time.

4.　  Select Contin. to continue timing.

5.　  Select Reset to reset the stopwatch.

With this feature, you can check the current local time and date for major cities around the world.

1.　  From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Tools > World time.

2.　  Press left or right on the Navigation Key to view the time of desired city.

3.　  Press the OK Key to save the selected city time as the time setting on your phone.

4.　  Press the Right Soft Key to exit.

This feature allows you to convert foreign currency to domestic currency.

From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Tools > Currency conversion.

1. Exchange rate: Enter a currency exchange rate.

2. Foreign amount: Enter the amount of foreign currency to be converted.

3. Local amount: The conversion result displays.

Tips: Press the Left Soft Key to enter a decimal.

With this feature, you can check the call log and call duration.

From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Tools > Recent Calls.

1.　　　  Call log: You can check All calls, Missed calls, Received calls, and Dialed calls logs.

2.　　　  Call Info: You can check the Last call duration and All calls duration. You can also clear all the call duration timers by pressing the OK Key for Clear. To reset the timers you will need to enter the phone’s lock code. The default lock code is 0000.

Notes:

All calls information can also be accessed by pressing the Send Key while in idle mode.

The default lock code is 0000.

Your phone has an integrated digital camera, which allows you to capture images.

1. From idle mode, select Menu >My Stuff > Tools > Camera. Or from idle mode, press the Camera Key on the keyboard to start the camera

2. Aim the camera lens at a subject.

3. Press the OK Key to take the photo; press it again to save.

You can use the following method to view the photos:

1. From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Pictures > My pictures.

2. Highlight a photo and press the OK Key for Open.

You can use the video camera to record video clips.

1. From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Tools > Camera.

2. Press right on the Navigation Key to switch to video camera mode.

3. Press the OK Key to start recording.

4. Press the OK Key to pause.

5. Press the OK Key for Continue to resume recording.

6. Press the Right Soft Key for Stop to stop recording.

7. Press the OK Key for Save.

You can use the following method to play a video.

1. From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Video > My Videos.

2. Highlight a video and press the OK Key to play it.

When you have audio files stored in your phone, you can create a playlist. This allows you to set the order in which the audio files are played.

You can use the steps below to play a sound file.

1. From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Audio > My Audio.

2. Highlight a sound file and press the OK Key to play it.

The AT&T Music application centers on three key music experiences: Play, Discover, and Shop. It includes a free-of-charge music player to play your music files and create playlists, as well as additional radio, song purchase, and lyric and song match functionality to enhance your music experience on the phone.

1. From idle mode, select Menu > AT&T Music.

2. Accept the terms and conditions of service.

3. The screen then displays a warning that this feature uses large amounts of data and recommends subscribing to an unlimited data plan. Select Continue.

4. Select Let’s Go! to take a quick tour of AT&T Music. Select Next as each screen displays.

Notes:

The first time you launch AT&T Music, the device plays an introductory tutorial. Some activities within AT&T Music require a monthly subscription for access. A free 3-day trial of all AT&T Music services is included upon first use. After the trial, you may subscribe or continue accessing the free local music player and Shop features.

Allows you to play the music you own via the My Library feature and to listen to streaming music from Genre and Personal radio stations.

Play screen options:

1.　　  My Favorites: allows you to access shortcuts to favorite artists, albums, songs, and radio stations.

2.　　  My Library: allows you to access all the music on your phone. Create or manage playlists and find music by artist, album, song, or genre.

3.　　  Genre Radio: allows you to access pre-programmed stations ranging from today’s hits to deep cuts for the music enthusiast.

4.　　  Personal Radio: an easy-to-use personal listening experience started by entering an artist, song, or genre that customized to your tastes by song ratings.

5.　　  Settings & Support: contextual settings for AT&T Music and help and support in the Play section.

Provides the ability to search the AT&T Music song catalog for songs by favorite artists. Song Match enables users to quickly find the name and artist of a song by holding their phone up to a song playing on the radio, TV, or jukebox, and Lyric Match allows lookup of artist/song information based on song lyrics.

Discover screen options:

1. Search Shop: allows you to search for songs and albums available from AT&T Music.

2. Song Match: allows you to identify nearly any song by holding your phone up to the music and recording a short clip.

3. Lyric Match: allows you to look up songs by only entering a few words.

4. View Match History: allows you to see all of the songs you matched via Song and Lyric Match.

5. Settings & Support: contextual settings for AT&T Music and help and support in the Discover section.

Shop is a full music catalog where users can search for their favorite songs and artists and preview, buy, and play songs or albums directly from their AT&T mobile phone. Fast, easy access to music is also available by browsing top songs, new releases, featured artists, and genres.

Shop screen options:

1. Top Downloads: allows you to access the most downloaded music.

2. New Arrivals: allows you to access new music that was not previously available.

3. Featured Artists: allows you to access music of the presently featured artists.

4. View Genres: allows you to view the different music genres that you may select from.

5. Purchase History: allows you to see a history of all of your purchases.

6. Settings & Support: contextual settings for AT&T Music and help and support in the Shop section.

This function allows you to record a voice memo. You can also set the voice memo as a ringtone.

1. From idle mode, select Menu > My Stuff > Tools > Voice recorder.

2. Select Start to start recording your voice memo.

3. Select Pause to pause the recording.

4. Select Contin. to resume recording.

5. Select Stop to stop recording.

Keep on top of your world with AT&T Social Net, which allows you to access the latest news as well as popular social networks—including Facebook®, Twitter™, and MySpace™— all in one place.

1. From the idle screen, select Menu > My Stuff > Games & Apps > Applications > AT&T Social Net.

2. To accept data charges if asked, select Continue. To accept the End User License Agreement, select Accept.

3. Select the social network of your choice from the top row.

4. Enter your login and password. Select Sign in. And now you are able to access your social network.

YPmobile enables user to search for local information and share results with their online network of friends.

Map based search and quick access to recently viewed business and events give YPmobile users more convenient ways to find what they need. Integration with Facebook and Twitter adds to the application’s sharing capabilities by letting users broadcast their newly discovered local hot spots.

1.　　  In standby mode, select Menu > YPmobile.

2.　　  Once connected, enter the key words you want to search and press FIND to browse content.

3.　　  Select an item from the search result to view details, where you can choose to make a phone call, or directly move to that place.

You can set and edit an appropriate profile depending on your current environment.

1. From idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Sound Profiles.

2. Select a profile and press the Left Soft Key for Edit.

a)　　　  Select Voice call ringtone to set the voice call ringtone.

b)　　　  Select Ring volume to set the volume of the ringtone.

c)　　　  Select Ring type to set the ring type.

d)　　　  Select Message tone to set the notification ringtone for an incoming message.

e)　　　  Select Keypad tone to enable or disable keypad tone.

f)　　　　 Select Warning tone to turn the warning tone on or off.

g)　　　  Select Power on/off sound to turn on/off the sound that plays while powering on/off the phone.

h)　　　  Select Earpiece volume to set the volume in the earpiece.

From idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Phone.

a)　　　  Select Language to set the current display language.

b)　　　  Select Time and date to set the date, time, and time style.

c)　　　  Select Missed calls alert to enable or disable the notification for missed calls. Choose for the alert to repeat every 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, or 30 minutes.

d)　　　  Select Shortcut keys to assign a navigation key as a shortcut for a function, such as the calendar.

e)　　　  Select Own phone number to display your phone number in idle mode to remind you which SIM card you are using.

f)　　　　 Select Download location to choose phone or memory card to save files while downloading.

g)　　　  Select TTY setting to enable the TTY function. Please refer to Accessibility > TTY Mode.

h)　　　  Select T-coil setting to enable you to hear the phone audio through a hearing aid with a telecoil. Please refer to Accessibility > HAC Mode.

i)　　　　  Select Master Reset to reset the phone to the default factory settings.

j)　　　　  Select Master Clear to clear all user data and reset the phone to the default factory settings.

From idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Display.

Select Wallpaper and select a photo saved in Pictures or Other files. This will be used as wallpaper, which is shown in idle mode.

a)　　　  Select Theme to switch between the default and green themes.

b)　　　  Select Backlight duration to adjust the backlight duration.

c)　　　  Select Main menu view to set the main menu to be displayed as List or Grid.

d)　　　  Select Brightness to adjust the screen brightness.

e)　　　  Select Keypad light to adjust how long the backlight for the keypad remains on.

f)　　　　 Select Owner name to enter the owner name. This is displayed in idle mode.

g)　　　  Select Greeting to enter a text greeting to be shown on the display when the phone is turned on.

From idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Connections.

a)　　　  Select Bluetooth to set up your phone as a Bluetooth device.

b)　　　  Select Access point settings to add to, edit, or view the access point list.

c)　　　  Select Profile connect to create or edit the connection data for a service provider.

d)　　　  Select PC connection to choose the connection method between your computer and the phone.

From idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Calls.

1.　　  Call forwarding

Call forwarding allows you to divert your incoming calls to another phone number. Contact your service provider for more information and availability.

2.　　  Call Waiting

If a call comes in when you are already on a call, you are notified with a call waiting tone. The phone shows the number/name of the waiting call. Contact your service provider for more information.

3.　　  Send My Number

This function allows you to send or hide your phone number when making calls. You can also select Set by network. The network then chooses whether to show/hide the phone number. This function requires network support.

4.　　  Answer mode

a)　　　  Flip open: This function allows you to answer an incoming call by directly opening the flip, but without pressing the Send Key or OK Key.

b)　　　  Any key: This function allows you to answer an incoming call by pressing any key on the keypad, without limitation to the Send Key or OK Key.

1. For a new phone, the protection function is not activated by default, and the default password is 0000.

2. From idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Security > Activate security codes > Phone lock code to start or stop password protection.

3. From  idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Security > Change security > Phone lock code to change the phone’s password. It is suggested that you change the password to something you will easily remember.

Notes: Please remember the password you set. Without it your phone cannot be used normally and you will need to contact your service provider to unlock it. You may contact your service provider for more information.

A PIN code is the personal identification code used by the SIM card. Its purpose is to avoid illegal use of your SIM card. The correct PIN code should be entered when the new phone is first turned on, otherwise the phone will only be able to make emergency calls.

For a new card, the default code is supplied by the service provider. If you change the PIN code, please remember the new number.PIN2 is needed for some settings. Use the same procedure as for the PIN code.

A PUK code is the unlock code for the SIM card. When the SIM card is locked, you have to enter the correct PUK code and then enter the new PIN code. The SIM card can then be used normally.

A PUK code can only be entered 10 times in a row. If you enter the wrong PUK code more than 10 times, the SIM card will be locked indefinitely.

From idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Flight to switch on/off flight mode.

Your handset is a TTY-compatible device. Simply connect the TTY equipment to the headset jack.

1. From idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Phone > TTY setting.

2. Select one of the following options and press the OK Key for Select.

a)　　　  Full: Users who cannot talk or hear may use this setting to send and receive text messages through TTY equipment.

b)　　　  Read & talk: Users who can talk, but cannot hear, may use this setting to talk through the phone and receive responses via text messages.

c)　　　  Write & hear: Users who can hear, but cannot talk, may use this setting to listen to the other party and respond via text messages.

d)　　　  Off: Users who can hear and speak may use this setting to disable TTY support.

This phone supports HAC (Hearing Aid Compatibility) function. When you turn on the Hearing Aid Mode and use a hearing aid with a telecoil to answer the phone, it will help you hear more clearly while speaking on the phone. For more detailed information on HAC, please refer to Care and Maintenance > Turn on the HAC Setting.

1. From idle mode, select Menu > Settings > Phone > T-coil setting.

2. Select On or Off and press the OK Key for Select to confirm.

Your Z331 has been tested for hearing aid device compatibility and has an M3/T4 rating.

1. Hold the Power/End key to turn off the phone.

2. Remove the back cover of your phone.

3. Carefully insert the battery with the contacts located against the metal springs.

4. Push down the battery until it clicks into place.

5. Replace the cover on the back of the phone.

Notes:

1. The phone automatically turns off if the battery power is too low.

2. If you are not going to use the battery for a long time, remove it from the phone and store it in a cool dry place.

3. Make sure the cover is lined up before pressing it into place. Do not force it. Doing so will damage the back cover.

1. Hold the Power/End key to turn off the phone.

2. Remove the back cover of your phone.

3. Lift the end of the battery near the bottom of the phone to remove it.

Your phone uses a rechargeable battery. When you first unpack the phone, the battery is not fully charged, but there might be enough power to turn on the phone. You can use the provided charger to charge the phone battery.

1. Open the USB port cover.

2. Insert the charger’s USB adapter into the USB port.

3. Plug the charger into a standard AC wall outlet.

4.When the battery is fully charged, unplug the charger and disconnect it from the phone.

Notes:

1. The phone automatically switches off if the battery power is too low.

2. Make sure the charger’s connector is inserted correctly. Do not force the connector into the port.

3. The   battery　 will remain fully charged for 3 to 4 hours.

4. Only use the charger provided by the original provider. Using an unapproved charger might be dangerous and violate the authorization and warranty rules of the phone.

5. If the phone is used too often when the battery is low or not used for a long time, the screen may not display the charge indicator until the battery has been continuously charged for 10 to 40 minutes.

6. To get the maximum performance out of your battery, it is recommended that you completely charge the battery before using the phone for the first time. A new battery’s full performance is only reached after three complete charge and discharge cycles have been finished.

7. Charging is only possible within a temperature range of 32°F to 113°F.

1. Hold the Power/End key to turn off the phone.

2. Remove the back cover of your phone.

3. Hold the SIM card with the metal contacts facing downward and the cut corner at the upper right. Insert the card into the card holder and push it until it clicks into position.

4. Replace the cover on the back of your phone.

Notes:

1. You can obtain a SIM card from your service provider when you sign on as a subscriber.

2. Do not bend or scratch your SIM card. Keep the card away from electricity and magnetism.

3. Don’t touch the metal surface of the SIM card. Doing so could cause information on the card to be lost or destroyed.

4. Disconnect the charger and other accessories from your phone and remove the battery before inserting and removing your SIM card

1. Hold the Power/End key to turn off the phone.

2. Remove the back cover of your phone.

3. Gently remove the SIM card from the card holder.

1. Hold the Power/End Key to power off the phone.

2. Remove the back cover and battery.

3. Push the cover of the memory card slot with designated direction and lift it up.

4. Carefully place the memory card into the memory card slot and lock the cover as shown below.

5. Reinsert the battery, replace the back cover, and turn the phone on.

Notes:

1. Your phone can support a memory card with the capacity up to 8 GB.

2. The memory card gives your phone a very large memory capacity. This allows you to save multimedia data, including images, photos, MP3 audio files, and ringtones. You can also use this memory card to store other files.

3. Only use approved memory cards for this device. Any use of unapproved memory cards might cause loss of data or damage to your phone.

1. Hold the Power/End Key to power off the phone.

2. Remove the back cover and battery.

3. Push with the designated direction and lift the cover of the memory card slot.

4. Carefully remove the memory card.
